The National Labor Relations Act

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) is a federal law that grants employees the right to form or join unions, and engage in (or refrain from engaging in) protected, concerted activities to address or improve working conditions. The law applies to most private-sector employers, including manufacturers, retailers, private universities, and health care facilities. It does not apply to employers who employ only agricultural workers (among other exceptions).
